Girls und Panzer : Dream Tank Match released on the PS4 this year in February. The Switch port adds 4 new characters from GIRLS und PANZER das FINALE Episode. It also adds 4 new tanks, and a Panzerfahren Festival mode. The Panzerfahren Festival mode is a offline tournament style game play. While many people felt it came a little late, coming out years after the Girls Und Panzer Anime Movie release, many people felt the game was a BLAST! no pun intended.
The game itself is an arcade style game, if your looking for high speed gameplay like Tanks of War or even faster, then you may really enjoy this game. This game has strategy in it’s gameplay, rather it’s targeting their treads to immobilizing enemies or placing yourself to aim for the more vulnerable sides and rear.
As some of us already know Girls und Panzer is an anime. The game itself is based around the events of the Movie, Girls und Panzer der Film . The Film takes place after the anime. The anime takes place in a universe where historical World War II–era tanks are maintained for sport-style warfare competitions. It is a highschool activitie students can participate in called sensha-dō meaning “the way of the tank”. The art of operating tanks is considered a traditional martial art. Miho Nishizumi, a girl from a prestigious family of sensha-dō practitioners. She transfers to Ooarai Girls High School to get away from sensha-dō as the school was no longer practicing the sport. However things never go as planned.
