What is the Premise?
Because of Denji parents he is left paying debt to the mobs. Selling body parts or fighting demons happen to be some of the ways he done so. Upon becoming Chainsaw man with the help of his demon pet he was saved. Though the Public Safety Bureau’s elite devil hunter Makima offer him a job or death. He was pretty happy hearing the job came with three meals a day.
What type of show is it?
For a super hyped show this is hardly a hidden gem. Our Isekai hero, no wait, isn’t isekai, he just has no idea how our world works. Regardless our hero is a teenager who never was giving options, was always hungry and suddenly found that need meet with him unsure what life goals he should go after. Reasonable might be going for a girlfriend, for him it’s touching a breast!
Is it a Hidden Gem?
I seen many complain about the CGI. While I’m not a fan of the CGI in the show it mostly used on more complex shots that I think wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t CGI. Two to four dozen zombies with chainsaws coming out of your hands and head, yea that’s harder to do. I also seen complains about how simple minded Denji is. But really being a pet for the mob his entire life it’s only understandable his mindset and give him lots of room to mature. We even get to see his inner workings as time goes on.

A Shinny Gem
Oddly enough while I did like the show itself, I had an issue with it that most people didn’t seem to talk about. The pacing. It felt like the anime liked to leave a cliff hanger just for it to be anticlimactic handle the next episode. Get all hyped up and it’s like a downer. But don’t worry, that episode will manage to hype you up just to cliffhanger you … again. Almost dropped it for that reason but the moment it was all out I watched all of it in one go. It all being out sort of kills this problem I know but it was how I watched it and killed the mood of the anime for me as I did so.
How much of it is there?
