What is the Premise?
Sometimes when I get to writing the Promise of these long title shows I almost just wanna copy paste the title of the show as it pretty much contain the main premise. Regardless, our lead for this show, Hiroshi Yuuki clearly is running away from life playing games instead. Being bullied out of his money and unable to afford a game he is after he ended up with a older MOO that is the ultimate realistic game. Turn out, it’s kind of shitty.
What type of show is it?
A comedy with a more serious tone that gives it the impression that it’s not suppose to be funny at times. Hiroshi has been avoiding real responsibility, though if a game makes it where your actions have reproductions with no restart button? After a bad start he keeps playing only because of pressure by Reona Kisaragi at first.
Is it a Hidden Gem?
The premise is a bit different, though our main character isn’t great. Though that’s somewhat the point. Introducing us to a MMO game that has a focus on single player play (oddly) and many features of the MMO don’t seem very logical for a MMO. These include having two AI friends who you are introduce to at the start that are different for everyone who plays the game. But regardless the theme of the show is different and does try hard to give us a different kind of show. While I did find it interesting I can see many people simply being turn way by many of the over glaring issues the show has. While the show ends open ended like many, I think it was a great cut off point and ending for the show and would feel happy with the ending even if no more come out.
Rating : A Rough Gem!
A different anime to watch, but get outshine by better of the same type of shows.
