Hidden Gem Review, In the Land of Leadale

What is the Premise?

Keina Kagami was living in the hospital before she finds herself in the world of her favorite VRMMORPG. Although a lot have change, seem that two hundred years has passed in the world of Leadale. Finding her connection to the hospital cut she assumes her life had ended. We don’t learn much but it seems she was quite disabled in the real world.

What type of show is it?

I like a good story, but I also like a simple story at times. Isekai anime tends to stay on the simple side and this one is in the simple catagory. It seems like a generic show going in. It sets low expections as well. Quickly making it clear that she spent most of her time in this MMO game as she couldn’t do much with her real body as well as making it clear she has no reason to try to go back. Yet somehow the show pulls random MMOish mechanics that normally would be ignored and make them key plots points.  An example of this is how some games have a system where you could use real world money to get ahead. In her game it allow you to “adopt” to get you extra NPC help which play a big part in this anime.

Is it a Hidden Gem?

Somehow, this show don’t do a lot that would bring it out of what many would call a generic isekai. The production values aren’t high. But it manage to start and finish with me wondering where it would go next. There is a good few plot points that come up, and come up again later while randomly adding new plots along the way. If you like more standard Isekai shows or want to see a more simple one could be then give this a try. I found it to do quite the good job for what it is.

Rating :

A Shinny Gem!
I think I’ll go out on the limb and say if you like your Isekai where the fights are always one sided and story simple then this might be one of the best of it. I mostly turn it on when I didn’t have the focus for more detailed stories and found myself coming back for more bits by bit.

How much of it is there?

One Season is out for this show.
You can watch Subbed and Dubbed
