What is the Premise?
Known as Mob, Shigeo Kageyama is a middle school boy who is known for his lacking sense of presences. While seeming average to many, he is in fact a powerful esper with powerful psychic powers. He worries about losing control of his powers, because of this he show little emotions and works as an assistant to a Reigen Arataka. Reigen is a self-proclaimed psychic and con-man. Mob wish to live a normal live but as his suppressed emotions growing and other espers around the corner he may just find a barrage of trouble around him.
What type of show is it?
A little bit of everything, we see Mob in both slice of life settings and in cool esper fights. Between the two seasons we find more slice of life and growth in the second season. Both seasons find a way to hit beats between many different themes and characters before finding rhythms that enhance the beats and play them all together!
Is it a Hidden Gem?
I found the first couple of episodes to be good to start with but not great. The start had to build a base and introduce us to a detached Mob. But each episode built on the last and before long we are rooting for Mob in more ways then expected. The show as a theme of how small acts of self-improvement can help you become a better you in time. Many people are relatable in this anime and you find yourself wanting to see what happens next!
A True Gem!
An Anime Worth going out of your way for, and think this show is great for family viewing and for non anime fans.
