What is the Premise?
Gojou is a highschool socially awkward student who enjoys hina dolls and practices making them. Currently he lives and study under his grandfather in his hina doll shop. His class mate Kitagawa who excels in both beauty and confidences that is quite popular. Kitagawa discovers Gojou’s skill with a showing machine and ask for help making a dress, sparking their relationship.
What type of show is it?
Being called a Romance and Slice of Life anime, this turns a lot of the rules on it’s head for what you’ll expect from those. I hear some compare it to a Ecchi Harem though that not correct ether. It’s a Ecchi story about a good hearted socially awkward male being lead out of his shell, though instead of him being an geeky, the twist is that she is the geek. Honestly the story is just fun! It’s not ground breaking but seemingly rather fresh while keeping many of the same treads.
Is it a Hidden Gem?
There is a lot of good to be had here. The visual is great, the colors are bright, and the characters designs stand out! When our main cast talk about cosplaying it bring up some valid points which might be real conversations cosplayers might of had when trying to make their own costumes. While the show does like focusing on it’s ecchi theme it does so with story making for just a higher quality show.
Rating : A True Gem!
An Anime worth going out of your way for, even likely to be enjoyed by some who wouldn’t normally enjoy a ecchi romcom sort of show. The show does show it’s colors right way making it a easy show to watch and try.
