Hidden Gem Review, The Millionaire Detective – Balance: UNLIMITED

What is the Premise?

Daisuke Kanbe decided he wanted to be a detective. And with him having an unlimited balance and the latest tech? Nothing would stop him. Though his new partner Haru Kato values justice above all and Daisuke intends to bring his own brand of reckless police work to the city, paying off whatever damage he causes for double it’s worth.

Bet you can guess who is Daisuke and who is Haru!

What type of show is it?

If your mind goes to ‘the worlds greatest detective’ in comics that happen to be rich then you would be off mark. Daisuke isn’t as much a cool, sophisticated guy, but more of a jerk with enough money to do whatever he please. He lives as if he doesn’t need to be concerned about the consequences.

Why would a rich guy who isn’t as concern about justice wanna be a detective then? Well this anime in fact does have character development and the crew does have there own stories and lives, but I can’t talk much more then that without spoilers.

Is it a Hidden Gem?

Being as unique  as the anime feels in a number of ways, it does feel to have pacing issues. I bet this show will find a number of strong fans as well as many who just not as impressed with it.

Rating :
A Rough Gem!

As you watch the anime you kind of get the feeling that Millions of dollars might be undercutting how rich Daisuke really is. Come to find out the anime is somewhat based of the novel Fugo Keiji (The Millionaire Detective) a series by Yasutaka Tsutsui running from 1975 to 1977.

How much of it is there?

One Season is out for this show.
You can watch Subbed and Dubbed
