What is the Premise?
The Four Cardinal Heroes are summoned from modern-day Japan to the kingdom of Melromarc to become its saviors. Melromarc is currently being attacked by Waves of Catastrophe who the Four Cardinal Heroes normally protect them from. The four heroes are appears with a sword, spear, bow, and shield to vanquish these Waves. Naofumi Iwatani, an otaku, become the “Shield Hero”. Soon Naofumi is betrayed and heavily discriminated against for something he didn’t do.
What type of show is it?
An Isekai but unlike many others where they are thrown in and randomly more powerful this one runs differently. They know he is from a different world as well as the fact that while the weapons itself can give him great boosts and powers the Waves are not something the standard solder is able to handle, giving them something that’s a challenge for them to use there greater then average power for. Truthfully this feels better compare to a Shonen Jump anime like Naruto or Bleach then most other Isekai anime.
Is it a Hidden Gem?
If you don’t like Shonen Jump style animes or Isekai Animes then your not going to find anything here that you enjoy. I feel the story stand on it’s own for being entertaining but have some of the standard short comings of others in the same style.
