Hidden Gem Review, Sword Art Online: Alicization

This Review covers both Alicization and Alicization – War of Underworld

What is the Premise?

A new state-of-the-art full-dive interface allows one to to enter a virtual world from your “Fluctlight”. Your Fluctlight is kind of treated as the soul in SAO. With you using Fluctlight instead of though what the brain emits this allowed one to enter the Underworld. The Underworld is a VR world where Rath aims to grow AI Fluctlights, growing AI that thinks the same as people do. They decided to use the famous SAO survivor Kazuto, better known by his online name Kirito, to help move them along. Kirito was set to not remember what happened doing his first trip in the underworld.

After a Real world event put Kazuto’s life at risk the people of Rath decide to use the full dive interface to help repair Kazuto’s real world self. This made them send him by full dive into the Underworld doing the process.

What type of show is it?

Sword Art Online is an Isekai, unlike many it’s one that allow it’s main cast to finish major stories and then pick up a new game. Many liked the first major story that was in the world of Aincrad. This arch did a good job of giving that old Aincrad feeling back while still expanding on the Sword Art Online Universe.

Kirito get to enter the world of the Underworld as a child of himself, setting an impression on to others before getting to come later as his adult form with all his memories. In a way, starting a new Isekai with a person we know, and a real world answer to what, how, and why, two things we don’t get very often. Over all, if you like what made Sword Art Online good it’s first season you will likely enjoy this season.

Is it a Hidden Gem?

It is pretty funny how many people seem to hate Sword Art Online. I really don’t think that it’s an anime worthy of all the hate. Though let be truthful, It’s really isn’t worthy of it’s gold like status ether. It’s a fun show to watch but the writing isn’t always on par with the great grade A animation. I will say that the author of SAO first major work was in fact SAO. He seem to be getting better with his story as well.

Rating : A Shining Gem!
Sometimes a decent story with Grade A Animations makes for a good time. While I do like anime that focus on the writing it’s nice to enjoy a more simple show at times.

How much of it is there?

This is the 3rd and 4th Season of Sword art Online. Although they act as a stand alone piece you would have trouble understanding who everyone is when the real world get more involved
You can watch Sub or With Dub being mostly for the 3rd season for right now.
